January 6, 2018
FREE Youth Deer Hunt


In partnership with the Georgia Wildlife Federation, Safari Club International, and the Quality Deer Management Association, we are hosting our second parent/child youth deer hunt at a private plantation in Newborn, Georgia.  Mentors will be on hand to provide hands-on, structured shooting instruction, hunt planning and safety, and more. The day ends with an actual afternoon deer hutn for the youth students. Its a blast and fully funded by the supporting organizations. For more info e-mail davidtsmith@outdoorkids.org.

​Wild Game Feast


The next Wild Game Feast to support the efforts of the Foundation for Outdoor Kids and our partners will be held January 20th, 2018 at the Roswell Rover Landing in Roswell, Georgia.  Visit www.wildgamefeast.net for details and to get your tickets!

With chef inspired gourmet wild game dishes, a Sweetwater Brewing beer trailer, a fire pit, cigar bar, bourbon tasting bar, a killer raffle of awesome items and more, this is a must attend event.  All proceeds fund camps, classes and seminars that introduce new people young and old to hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities.

Youth Shooting and Fishing Day Camp Series


​In partnership with the Roswell Parks and Recreation Department. Occurs each Sunday in March 2018 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm 
Sunday, March 4th - 3D Archery for beginner and intermediate shooters.
Sunday, March 11th - Bass fishing, with hands on instruction while we fish! 
Sunday, March 18th - Air Rifle for  for beginner and intermediate shooters.​
Sunday, March 25th - Flyfishing, with hands on instruction while we fish!

Roswell Outdoor Academy


This camp introduces kids to fishing and hunting and provides hands-on, skill based training to get them ready to enjoy the great outdoors! Daily events include a focus on at least two outdoor activities, including archery, fly fishing, deer hunting, bass fishing, dog training, outdoor safety, turkey hunting, air rifle, game and fish biology and more. Campers will learn from real outdoor experts and pros, including competition bass fisherman, professional guides, Georgia state game wardens and others. The week ends with a skills competition for awesome prizes and a real wild game cookout!
Ages 8–14 on date of class.

FREE CLASSES

"Let's Go Hunting" and "Let's Go Fishing" classes are offered FREE OF CHARGE to scout groups, schools, churches or other kids groups. These 3-hour long classes are hands-on and fun and a great way to get kids curious about the outdoors. "Let's Go Hunting" classes offer hands-on instruction on archery and air rifle shooting, plus game calling, hunting strategies, our role in conservation and more!  The "Let's Go Fishing" classes provide instruction on casting, lure selection, fish identification, rigging up tackle and how to go catch the big ones!
